Lisu Hilltribe Woman

A Lisu hilltribe woman, who just delivered supplies to miners in Lay Oo in the city of Mogok.  Part of the rich human fabric that makes up the valley.

Man-made lake in the center of Mogok, where ground water settled after hundreds of years of mining.  Only the occasional Stupa suggests the country of location.

Kanase Woman

Kanase women, one of the mainstays of the Mogok mining community, gather stones otherwise overlooked by the mineowners, and trade them in the town's many daily gem markets.
Visible from nearly every point in the town, Mogok's main pagoda sits majestically against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains
